Presence, Privacy Concern and LBS

The purpose of current project is to investigate the effects of social presence on privacy concern in location based social network service (LB-SNS). We use Social Presence Theory as a theoretical framework, and seek to examine the potential negative effects of social presence, which was not much considered crucial in the previous literature.

A New Mathematical Theory of Communication

mathematics.jpg

The current project relates natural science to social science. Specifically, the concept of psychological distance is revisited to be applied to the context of physics. This research argues that the sub-dimensions in the concept of psychological distance has potential to be applied to mathematical formulas in physics (e.g., the formula of velocity). In addition, the current study integrates the theory of evolutionary psychology to coherently articulate the concept.
